I didn’t understand what the big deal was until I saw that horrendous interior.

My poor eyes.

No. Not a Probe. This cannot happen.

A stage 3 clutch on what appears to be an otherwise stock engine? That sounds awful.

What on earth does “stage x” even mean?

I don’t think it can get much worse than this. He did everything by the book of awfulness.

Seriously though, that’s gotta be rough.

Stage 1 is stock. Pedal effort is easy, but it’s only designed to handle so much power.

Stage 2 is good for lightly modified setups. The pressure plate makes the pedal a bit stiffer, but still manageable on the street.

Anything beyond stage 2 is basically a racing clutch. The higher the number, the more like an on/off switch the clutch becomes. The ability to handle large amounts of power comes at the cost of comfort as you are less able to slip the clutch.

Technically a stage 3 clutch can still be used on the street, but it’s a complete waste when the engine only makes stock power. Kinda makes me wonder if there was a nitrous kit on the car, removed prior to putting it up for sale, like the subs. The seller does claim it was a F&F “tribute” car...

Especially a GT :/ When stock, those are some pretty slick looking cars, in my opinion.

That made me chuckle too, lol. Though, just about any place is better on cars than Michigan.

Is this a universal thing? I see “stage x” turbos, etc.

They’re great cars, and the engine is the best part.

Yeah, the 2.5 is a pretty damn decent powerplant for the car, especially in the 90’s. Hell, its 7s 0-60 time still isn’t too bad by today’s standards. And its LEAPS better than the SOHC 2.2 Turbo used in the previous gen GT.

Kinja'd!!!1

From what I’ve read, a stage one turbo is a straight bolt-on mod. Stage 2, however, requires an intercooler, and stage 3 is race-only.

That might be an oversimplification, but it seems to be a good rule of thumb.

That can’t be a stock color, can it? It’s even in the engine bay. Someone really went all out.

The seller states that it was a F&F “tribute” car. Sure enough, they seem to have “spared no expense”. I see mounting points for what probably wasn’t a stock wing and wires for subs that have been removed. Those colors and decals are very F&F-inspired...

You know, it wouldn’t surprise me if the car had nitrous on it at some point.

Nah, I don’t think so. The closest thing is Calypso Green, and that was teal. So, I’m thinking that (surprisingly) it was a decent re-spray from a while ago.

I noticed those things as well. Though, for the money they probably put into this thing, I’m really not sure why didn’t just buy an Eclipse besides trying to make a Probe masquerade as one.

That would be hilarious, but I’m pretty sure this original motor would be LONG gone if it did.

Yeah, what’s up with that anyway? It’s hard to see in the picture, but the stock air box is completely gone, and I don’t see an aftermarket filter in its place. It looks like it’s sucking hot, unfiltered air from the engine bay. WTF?

I was questioning that too. Maybe he took the filter off of the CAI just for the pictures? Though, I guess it wouldn’t surprise me if he does have no filter. As ridiculous and stupid as that is, this car is pretty damn high on the ricer scale, if you know what I mean.

it would be a funny conversation piece.
